Afte-school activities in which parents are encouraged to attend should be well advertised. Also, after-school activities that require or encourage parents or community involvement should be scheduled to avoid conflicts. After-school activities should be completed by 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Exceptions would be Colorado High School Activities Association activities and other activities that cannot be scheduled at other times.

In order to prevent conflicts, an orderly process of scheduling with Central Office coordination is required. Decisions concerning after-school activities are the responsibility of the building principal or supervisor in charge of the activity.

The following procedure will be followed:

1. The dates for after-school activities which parents attend will be established at least one month ahead of the scheduled activity.

2. All dates will be given to the Central Office person designated to keep the calendar.

3. A record will be kept by the Central Office located on the district web site listing all extra activities by date.

4. Before scheduling an activity the date will be checked by the building principal or supervisor.

5. If a conflict exists, an attempt will be made to change the date of the proposed activity.
