5270.2 Student Discontinuers




The purpose of this regulation is to establish a procedure to keep track of the students that do not continue to attend school.

The following procedures will be followed:

1. Discontinuers will be recorded on the student database (Mac School) as required and the official notification of withdrawal form completed and put in the students cum folder.

2. Included in this format will be the following items:

a. The name of the student.
b. The date the student left.
c. The reason the student left (if known).
d. The date transcripts were sent on this student.
e. Where records were sent.

3. A written quarterly report will be given to the Board detailing all students who have discontinued their enrollment and have not enrolled in another school.

4. When a student discontinues attendance at a school, every effort will be made to locate the student and determine the reason for withdrawal from school. If it is determined that the student has dropped out of school, the procedure for school dropouts will be followed (Regulation 5270.1 )

5. Students who have not attended school for ten consecutive school days and are unaccounted for will be dropped from the rolls. .
