5561 Communicable Diseases - Students

The Board of Education of Moffat County School District RE-1 recognizes the need to protect the health and welfare of students and staff members. The district will respond in a prudent manner to a student being diagnosed as having a communicable disease and/or life threatening medical condition, including, but not limited to, hepatitis, mononucleosis, chicken pox and HIV/AIDS. Appropriate actions relative to the student’s attendance will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The board therefore directs the superintendent to develop administrative procedures to deal with communicable diseases and/or life threatening medical conditions.
