6391 Activities Council
There shall be an advisory committee on school activities known as the Activities Council. The membership of this committee shall be composed of the high school principal, the middle school principal, the high school activities director, the middle school dean, one Board member, the school improvement committee president or designee, and four at-large members. The at-large members shall be appointed by the six (6) designated members in a manner which insures balance and equity in the committee composition. The High School Principal shall serve as chairman of this committee; the middle school principal shall serve as vice-chair.
Upon request of the school board or superintendent, the committee will make recommendations for consideration by the board of education regarding various aspects of the activities programs in the district. (E.G. - facilities, summer camps, travel, clubs, stipends).
The committee will maintain data sufficient to determine the extent to which the district is in compliance with Title IX.
The committee will develop and maintain a regulation which addresses the issues involved in adding/deleting an activity.
The committee shall meet in September of each school year at the high school office.
