6400 Instructional Arrangements

6411 Movies

Teachers are encouraged to use supplemental materials to aid in the instructional process. Movies, other than for special occasions, should be directly related to the instructional goals and design of the curriculum. For purposes of communication, any teacher showing a movie that is not part of the adopted curriculum shall complete the following form before the movie shall be shown. The principal shall keep a copy on file in the office.


At NO TIME shall an "R" rated movie be shown at the high school, or a PG or higher rated movie be shown at the elementary or middle school, without prior written approval from the building principal, the department chairperson where appropriate, and the parent or guardian of the student who will view the movie. Permission forms should be sent home in a timely fashion to give parents or guardians time to preview the video if desired.
