CURRICULUM OBJECTIVES:
1.  To comply with copyright and verify legitimacy of various sites.
2.  Be able to tie in different curricular areas:  math, social studies, technology and reading.
3.  To be able to properly present findings to others.
4.  To be able to graph population and land size.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:  Students will use different forms of technology to properly and legally present information of the population and land size of New York City and five boroughs.

MATERIALS:

PC viewer
TV monitor 
Appleworks-graphing instructions
PROCEDURES:
Objective #1:  In order to comply with copyright and  confirm the legitimacy of web sites, students will answer following questions:  1)  Who wrote the page?  2)  Is it a commercial or educational site?  3)  Who are recognized authorities cited?  4)  What is the notification of publication date? and  5)  Are there links to external sites? 

Objective #2:  Students will gather all information gathered from sites for math, social studies, and reading and tie it together into one presentation.

Objective #3:  Students will  be instructed on the proper usage of the PC viewer and TV monitor to present to a large group.

Objective #4:  Using AppleWorks Graphing Information, students will construct accurate pie, circle, and bar graphs. Access web site:http//publicpurpose.com/dm-nyc.htm

ASSESSMENT:
