Introduction

Imagine that you are asked by a team of physicians to design a newsletter for new parents informing them on Sudden Infant Death. This newsletter will be given to parents in their gift pack, when they leave the hospital, with their new infant. It should inform them about the causes of SIDS and suggest precautionary measures that can be taken. 



The Task

The students will explore  web sites to help them answer questions on a worksheet listed under " The Process".  They will create a newsletter or pamphlet from this information using the Apple Works Program.

Evaluation

The students will be handed a teacher student designed rubric for evaluation of this project. The 4 main components  assessed will be : aesthetic quality, creativity, information and spelling and grammar.
 
 



STANDARDS
The students  will demonstrate  their knowledge of Sudden Infant Death by creating a newsletter or pamphlet.

The students will display  their technology skills by using the the Web Quest to process information on Sudden Infant Death.
