Class of 1979

Dear Classmates:
Ten years ago, we joked about pre-mature gray hair and crows feet appearing. I don't know if we can call it pre-mature now. When we were younger, time went by so slow waiting to get one's driver's license, waiting to graduate, waiting to be legal always waiting. It doesn't feel like it has been ten years since our last class reunion, but it has. Maybe our parents were right when they said time goes by faster as you age.
We would like to schedule our twenty year class reunion for Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7, 1999. The current plans are:

Friday August 6, 1999:
Plan to meet at the Luttrel Barn anytime after 5:00 p.m. to visit with classmates. Soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. I'm sure some of us will also make sure that a few kegs of beer conveniently appear. Luttrel Barn is located on the east side of Craig just east of the fairgrounds on Highway 40 and is frequently used for wedding receptions. It should also work pretty good for us!

Saturday August 7, 1999:
We have the Loudy-Simpson Recreation area reserved for Saturday afternoon and evening. Plan on arriving anytime after 2:00 and plan on bringing your children. This area can be accessed by driving south on Ranney Street, across the Yampa River and turning right at the softball fields (approx. _ mile past the river bridge). Follow the road on the north side of the softball fields. Bad to the Bone Catering will provide a barbecue for us starting about 4:00 p.m. Barbecued beef brisket, chicken, salads, ice tea, lemonade and other items will be available. Children plates will consist of hamburgers and hotdogs.
We plan to contact some of the high school groups to see if they are interested in providing children activities like face painting or a soft drink booth. The facilities do have playground equipment, horseshoe pits, volleyball nets, etc. for our use. We may also try to get one of the local photographers to be there to take a class picture. Those that want a picture can purchase it at the time.

Other Activities: The Moffat County Fair is also being held this weekend. They normally have some activities that you or your children might be interested in.
Available Lodging in Craig: We are trying to get discounts from the motels so you might want to mention that you are with the Class of 1979. For those of you that haven't been back to Craig in awhile, you'll notice that there are more motels; even Craig has grown!

We are thinking about compiling a book like we did for our ten-year class reunion. If you would like to write something, please submit it to us prior to May 15,1999. This date has been extended to JULY 15Please include information about your spouse, children, and what you have been doing the last few years. We will have the books available at the class reunion.
We also plan to have a Web page placed with the Moffat County High School web page. This will be a good place to confirm the times if there are any changes after we send out the invitations (or you could call one of us). The web address is moffatsd.org.

Even if you don't want anything written, please RSVP to us before May 15 (since May 15th has already passed a grace period is being allowed, better late than never) so we can confirm the number of people coming to the barbecue.

Please notify other classmates since we haven't been able to find everybody. Everybody is invited even if they went to school with us only a short time. Unfortunately, some of our classmates have already passed away, please let us know so we can include this information in the booklet.
We have money left over from our ten-year class reunion, which will be applied to Friday nights activities and part of the gratuity for the barbecue. Some of the Craigites will furnish a few kegs of beer and we think we can get the supplies for the books donated. Money will be needed to cover the barbecue and incidental expenses. With the items being donated, we think $16/adult plate and $5/child plate will cover all the expenses. Please submit the cost of the barbecue with your RSVP by May 15, 1999. We really hope to see a lot of you and your families. You can send your check, RSVP or any correspondence to:
