Senior Proficiency Testing  

Proficiency Testing for the class of 2008

Students will be notified by mail by the end of September if they DO NOT meet these proficiancy requirements.

Three areas of testing will be considered on each individual student. Those are : CSAP scores, ACT STate Scores, MAPS scores, and PLAN scores (pre-ACT). A senior will need to meet at least one score to be considered proficient in the subject area,

Math

A senior will be considered proficient in math by being partially proficient on the CSAP, or having a 16 or above on the ACT or PLAN. Banking proficiency will be determined inthe student's consumer class.

 

Writing

A senior will be considered proficient in writing with a CSAP score of Proficient, or a 20 or better in English on the PLAN or ACT tests.

 

Reading

A senior will be considered proficient in reading by obtaining a 9.0 or better on the Terra Nova or Gates testing, a level of Proficiency on the CSAP, a 20 or better on the ACT or PLAN in reading, or an Independent level of reading on the 2 passages of the IRI administered by Mrs. Gray.

Special Education students MAY be exempt as per their IEP.
