Greetings from Dr. Mathew Neal

Dear Moffat County School District community,

We’re back! Hard to believe another summer break has come and gone, but I am so excited to have students back in our schools. The excitement, energy, life, and light they bring to our hallways and classrooms is undeniable and irreplaceable. What a good time of year this is.

This school year is shaping up to be a very exciting one at Moffat County School District. We started our very first day off with a bang, rolling out our brand-new Chromebooks to every single Moffat County High School student. Congratulations and thank you to our technology and high school teams for that successful and challenging undertaking. This will improve learning for our high school students in so many ways, and I’m so grateful to see this coming to pass.

Across the district, the buildings are in better shape inside and out than they have been in years, thanks to our facilities and grounds team. I’m so proud to walk into our buildings every day and see the upgrades and beautification that has taken place and continues to take place. Each building still has work to do, and that’s why we continue our work throughout the school year, but I’m very pleased with the work we did already and am thrilled our students and staffs can work in a place that befits their great effort.

This year we’ve got big goals. One of them is to continue to restore the belief in our school district that we feel our students deserve. That’s why we’re using “I Believe in Moffat County School District” in our messaging and communications. I do believe. I believe Moffat County schools are great and can be even greater. We’re going to reveal some incredible results from last year in the coming weeks and months, and we know that we have lots of room to continue to grow. I’m so proud of the hard work our staff and teachers are doing to educate and inspire our students to thrive, and I’m even more proud of our students who are taking those opportunities and thriving.

So let’s join together, Moffat County. Another school year is upon us. We need your faith, your hope, your prayers, and your belief. Where we need to improve, trust us, believe in us, we’re working on it. And look for what’s already happening. I promise there are great things being done. Believe me. Believe in your students, your teachers, and your staff. Believe in Moffat County School District.
